Moon – childhood; Childhood and dreams – Sun, moon, and the stars

3:00 again… at my work table in the sunroom (known to others as a dining table and a dining room 😉 ), and I look out the window, and there it is again… the moon against that lovely pale blue backdrop of the sky.

Seeing stephensmustang‘s background with the photo’s of the horses conjures up memories of my childhood.
I miss my childhood.

Did you know that my first name, Cynthia, means Luna (no not loony) – child of the moon?  Moon child.  🙂

Could this explain my fascination with the moon, and walks in the night?

The name Cynthia is a Greek baby name. In Greek the meaning of the name Cynthia is: Of Cynthus (Mount Cynthus on the island of Delos). Famous bearer: Cynthia was one of the names of the mythological moon goddess Artemis, referring to her birth on Mount Cynthus.

The name was invented by a Latin poet during the time of Jesus. He wrote the Odes to Cynthia, some of the earliest known love poetry. This poet wrote in the style of the Greeks and the name was originally Kynthia, meaning “from Mount Kynthus” a mountain on the island of Delos. Apollo was from Delos and he was the god of poetry. Cynthia was not the woman in the poems, she was the muse. So, in the style of the Greeks, her name is invoked at the beginning of each poem.

Evidently the name Lynn has to do with water…
so moon lake, or moon waterfall would be more accurate for my full name.
I rather like the sound of both… now I will break into song….
