The calling of birds from the woods today insisted on me getting out for time on my porch.

“For He has brought us to the beginning of this day, and He will see us to it’s end.”

Took the time to read and contemplate book of Daniel, chapters 9 and 12.

  1. Porch time is important…to feel the air (even cold air), to hear the birds, to breathe, to commune with God and his creation. 🙂

That is an important promise/verse you shared.

I always found the stories of Daniel’s life to be amazing and inspiring.

One time, at the San Francisco zoo, we got to be inside a huge building with the big cats at feeding time. Knowing they were about to be fed they started roaring (I guess to hurry dinner up! 😀 ) and their sound was deafening and frightening. Some children started crying. I thought of Daniel then and was glad there were bars and wire, etc., separating us from lions and tigers.

We often go through our own “in the lion’s den” times in life…and during those times we must not focus on the “lions”, but on our all powerful Protector/Jesus.

Now I’m thinking of Daniel’s 3 friends in the fiery furnace…when they said, to King Nebuchadnezzar, “Our God will protect us, but even if he chooses not to protect us or deliver us, we still won’t bow down and worship you, King Neb!” (Carolyn Translation 🙂 )

You have no idea how much I needed those words of inspiration tonight. Now I am smiling – will go to bed with a smile.
