Trying to capture the mood –

Today is a hot chocolate kind of day.
A day when the sun can’t seem to decide,
whether to go, or to stay.
A day of half-warmth, and half-chill.

I step outside and hear the sound of many falling leaves,
like a rainfall – a rainfall of tiny leaves I observe falling among the trees.
and how soon will the trees be bare?
How soon will I once again be seeing my neighbors, of the neighborhood, on the other side of the trees?

It’s quiet,
no birds, no squirrels,
just traffic, automobiles, human noise.
Oh, to be Thoreau, and to go,
into the woods.

  1. I read this, Lynn, in a NIssan waiting room (not for expectant fathers) . I am in a mood to brood on the goooood. (that way good rimes)

My Maxima (car) needs a smog check.
My body needs an oxygen check.

The waiting room was filled with gals.
I was awaiting all alone without any pals.

    Everyone is now departed.
    Looks like I was outsmarted.

    In closing,

God loves both of us equally.

    blessings,

    1. Hi Michel, I will let you know if I learn anything about Frank. His comment about oxygen was a joke I am sure. He was talking about the car needing a check up and I feel certain he was just making a joke about his oxygen.
Frank usually deletes his posts after 2 days, so often if you go back to read they are not there. I think that is why we get the message ‘not found. His page is still there, just no postings.
I think I remember he said his time would be limited.
He is good about replying to e-mail.

  3. Love this! You’ve captured the mood beautifully! Sigh πŸ™‚
After a busy day, your words bring me peace.
I had some hot chocolate last night! πŸ™‚
The leaves are almost all gone (blown away, raked up, etc.), but once in awhile a few will scurry down the street in the wind. I love the noise they make and they seem so determined to get somewhere. πŸ˜‰ Maybe they are heading south for the Winter, to vacation in the sun! πŸ™‚
    HUGS!!! πŸ™‚
