Praying mantis on my porch…
not too pleased to have a praying mantis on my porch :-/

Bluebird on my rooftop…
I guess instead of taking shelter, he’s taking a bath in the rain. 🙂
Looks like a baby bluebird, maybe he doesn’t know any better to come in out of the rain. 🙂

Now back to my movies, with salad and a glass of wine for dinner. 😀

    1. I was pinched by a praying mantis once, before I ever knew how mean they were. 😦 I did not see it when I was clipping bushes, and it ‘clipped’ me in its pinchers. OW!
Have you ever gotten close to one? They assume a very aggressive stance so you better watch out. I don’t like them. They scare me.
Did you know that the female bites off the head of the male after they mate?
Here, you will enjoy this. 😀

      1. Yikes! I didn’t know that! 😦 I’ve never been close to the mouth end!
And I didn’t know THAT! Poor male mantis! I’m sure like human-males, that doesn’t deter the male-mantis from getting it on! 😮 😉
Cute vid! Love the bright colors and animation of that one! 🙂
        HUGS!!! 🙂

  1. Yes, those mantis thingys are mean and nasty. If you pick one up? Their legs hurt and scratch you too! Hope you have a nice day. Here we have had some much needed rain during the night. Blessings!

  2. The mantis is praying but despite of that you prefer the gracious little blue bird :: 😉 I understand even if the mantis is a marvel, of the nature too .

I commented on your previous post with two comments , one about my link which I changed.
    Love ❤

  3. Back in the day when going to the airport was fun and you got to go to the gates with your departing loved ones there would be HUMONGOUS preying mantis on the terminal windows, maybe they thrive on airplane fuel, they were kinda spooky!!! but I’ve never picked one up. I think the bluebirds had a second clutch around here, there are lots of babies…I love that!!!!!! Dinner sounded delightful =)
